This is a restorative yoga class with live sound. Throughout this 90 minute session you will be guided through a sequence of restorative yoga postures suitable for all levels and bodies. As you rest in the supported shapes, Kiko will share a live soundscape with various healing overtone instruments including crystal and himalayan singing bowls, gongs, tuning forks, chimes, shruti box and voice. These sounds are intended to guide you into a deeper state of meditation and inner awareness.

Those attending the class should wear comfortable clothes for gentle movement and layers are suggested for warmth. All suggested restorative yoga postures can be modified to fit your needs, and this class is intended to be accessible to all who would like to attend.

Restorative yoga is a gentle and effective way of accessing the many layers of our body to encourage self healing. Through supported postures and sequences we provide the body and mind with tools to return to a state of balance. The shapes we create with a variety of props including bolsters, blocks, blankets and sandbags allow our bodies to enter an optimal state of rest and equilibrium from which we can reconnect with ourselves, open to sound and provide the ideal circumstances for our bodies to self heal.Because we work to restore balance, restorative yoga is beneficial for all. It can greatly improve your levels of stress, anxiety and depression and can aid in many challenges within our nervous system including insomnia, digestion, energy levels , injury, trauma and overall well being. When we combine restorative practice with sound healing, our bodies are able to focus on the anchor of vibration which brings us deeper into a sense of well being and connectedness. The healing sound waves stimulate alpha and theta brain waves, encouraging the body and mind to rest in a state of harmony and receptivity.
